Guide it up, guide it up
Can’t wait to see what we devise
Ahhhh, oohoohooh!
Wrap it up, wrap it up
Wrap it up and step aside
Could the divine be on the rise
Climb it up, climb it up
Climb it up the tree outside
The fall may not be the demise
Guide it up, guide it up
Guide it up and organise
Can’t wait to see what we devise
A Grape Dope is the moniker of John Herndon, a member of the legendary Chicago post-rock band Tortoise. This EP is a collection of 4 remixes of songs from the full length album 'Arthur King Presents A Grape Dope: Backyard Bangers'. Remixers featured are Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab), Four Tet, Jeff Parker (Tortoise), and Roberto Carlos Lange (Helado Negro).
Herndon's debut solo album, 'Backyard Bangers', is the amalgamation of many eclectic influences. A record impossible to tag with any one genre, yet assured in its execution. 'Backyard Bangers' consolidates blasts of experimental hip hop beats, grinding lo-fi house grooves, clattering noise passages, and even subdued synth ambience into a concise and colorful 32 minute journey.

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
